Description

As the Primordial Entity fell to the ground, so did his opponents.

The three Pokemon could barely move, their bodies feeling as heavy as stone.

Then one of them saw it, a small orb of light appeared beside Primal Dialga, several others soon following it.

The three of them were next as the strange lights started to appear around them as well.

They were not confused as to what was going on, time moving around them and the fact that Dialga was becoming transparent was enough...history had been changed...and it was their fate to change with it.

A groan came from his left, making Grovyle turn his head to face the one next to him.

Lugia, the pokemon he'd known his whole life was next to him and...crying?

"L-Lugia?" Grovyle asked in confusion, never before had he seen the legendary cry in his life. Curious, he continued, "What's wrong?"

The Diving Pokemon turned to him and spoke, his voice weak and calm. "Grovyle...will I die...a hero like you?"

Grovyle was confused until he recalled their earlier conversation where he, in desperation, asked the legendary if he'd rather die being known as a villain...or a hero?

As the duo locked eyes Grovyle could no longer see the monster that had betrayed him, hunted him, and even almost killed him...he could see the one he was once proud to call his friend.

Lugia's feathers had slowly began to return from a sinister purple to their natural silver and lavender as the darknes of the future disappeared around them, his red eyes slowly fading to the ocean blue they were supposed to be.

Grovyle smiled for the first time in what seemed like years and spoke, "Yes, yes you will...my friend." he said, his eyes filling with tears as well.

Lugia smiled back before looking at the sky, at the now-rising sun that he, when he had been lost to the darkness, had took for granted the first time. Now, in his original mindset, the view was like something in a dream.

Lugia then could no longer lift his head to look, feeling it get heavy as the lights around him began appearing in clusters rather than separate.

Once more he looked at Grovyle and spoke, "Thank you...Grovyle, for helping me...find my heart again. If only there was time to spend with you like I used to. Goodbye...friend."

With those words Lugia vanished, Grovyle's fading claw grabbing nothing but air as he reached out in one last effort to hold on to his friend.

Lugia was gone... and he knew that he would go next.

You have no idea how painful it felt to write that story, especially when the music you are listening to is the one that plays at the end of the main Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky plot after Temporal Tower :(

As for the story and picture itself... I had a dream last night that involved the special episode in PMD: EotS about Grovyle in the future. This got me thinking, what would have happened if I had known that side story was going to exist? What would I have done in Grovyle and Lugia's situation, given their past?

Because it was the darkness of the future at changed Lugia in a physical and emotional way I figured that, as time began moving and the Future starting to change, Lugia's colors would revert back to normal, as would his emotional state, turning him back into the friend Grovyle once knew.

You guys just know I will have to make this a Alternate Universe mini fanfiction now :3
